Summary

SuiteCRM, an open-source customer relationship management application, has an SQL injection flaw in its GetLatestRevision.php component that lets a remote attacker with low-privileged login and Documents module access read database data and mass-update linked document records. The attack needs no user interaction, and the flaw is fixed in later releases.

Read the original description

SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, GetLatestRevision.php interpolates get_latest_for_id directly into an SQL UPDATE statement. Although securexss() normally entity-encodes quotes, an input prefixed with an XSS payload makes AntiXSS select a processed string instead of the encoded backup, allowing a literal quote to reach the query. A low-privileged user with Documents module access can disclose database data and mass-update linked_documents records, while stacked statements and arbitrary DROP or INSERT operations are not supported by this vector. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.

Questions about CVE-2026-69140

Is CVE-2026-69140 being exploited?

It is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and CISA's SSVC assessment does not mark exploitation as active. That does not mean it has not been attacked: vendors and researchers can report attacks before CISA lists them. No public exploit code is tracked.Source: cve.now feed data

What does this mean?

The get_latest_for_id parameter in GetLatestRevision.php does not safely handle SQL input. An authenticated low-privilege user can use it to change the linked_documents table and read data from other database tables, and error messages can expose credentials in the server log.Source: github.com

Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-69140?

SuiteCRM: before 7.15.2; from 8.0.0 before 8.10.2.Source: cve.now feed data

Am I affected, and how do I check?

SuiteCRM versions before 7.15.2, and versions from 8.0.0 up to but not including 8.10.2. The user needs a role with Documents module access, so check the installed version and which roles can reach Documents.Source: github.com

How do I fix CVE-2026-69140?

Upgrade to 7.15.2 if you run the 7.x line, or to 8.10.2 if you run the 8.x line. No workaround is listed in the facts.Source: github.com
