Read the original description
Frappe Learning Management System (LMS) is a learning system that helps users structure their content. Prior to version 2.54.0, quiz submission records are not adequately authorized on the server. Through a `REST` bypass, an authenticated student can record a passing or perfect quiz result without their answers being verified, unlocking course completion and certificates. The student can also create a submission attributed to another user, exhausting that user's allowed attempts and blocking legitimate submissions. These integrity and availability issues are scoped to quiz results; they do not expose other users' data or grant elevated roles. This issue is fixed in version 2.54.0.

Questions about CVE-2026-61805
What does this mean?
A student can record a passing or perfect quiz result without the answers being checked, which unlocks course completion and certificates. A student can also create a quiz submission attributed to another user, using up that user's allowed attempts and blocking their legitimate submission.Source: github.com
Am I affected, and how do I check?
Frappe LMS versions before 2.54.0 are in the affected range. The attacker must be an authenticated student account. To check, compare the installed lms app version with 2.54.0.Source: github.com
What should I do about it?
Upgrade Frappe LMS to version 2.54.0 or later, which contains the fix.Source: github.com
Is it being exploited?
It is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and CISA's SSVC assessment does not mark exploitation as active. That does not mean it has not been attacked: vendors and researchers can report attacks before CISA lists them. No public exploit code is tracked.Source: cve.now feed data
