Summary
Chamilo LMS, an open-source learning management system, is affected. An attacker who can write crafted data to a career-related database field can cause the server to run arbitrary commands, potentially giving them full control over the web server's data, operations, and availability.

Read the original description
Chamilo LMS is an open-source learning management system. Prior to 2.0.1, `public/main/inc/lib/career.lib.php` and `public/main/cron/import_csv.php` call PHP's native `unserialize()` on `user_career.extra_data` retrieved from the database without the `allowed_classes: false` safety option. An attacker able to write crafted serialized PHP objects to that column, for example through a separate SQL injection, a compromised admin CSV import, or a lower-privilege admin panel, can instantiate arbitrary PHP objects and trigger POP gadget chains in autoloaded `Symfony`, `Doctrine`, or `Monolog` components. This permits arbitrary OS commands as the web server user, compromising server confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.1.

Questions about CVE-2026-45145
What does this mean?
Chamilo LMS unsafely deserializes serialized PHP objects stored in the user_career.extra_data database column. Crafted objects can trigger a PHP object injection chain, which the advisory says can execute arbitrary OS commands as the web server user.Source: github.com, github.com
Am I affected, and how do I check?
The listed affected version is Chamilo LMS 2.0.0. Check the installed Chamilo LMS version to see whether it matches. The bug also requires that an attacker can write crafted serialized PHP objects into the user_career.extra_data column.Source: github.com, github.com
What should I do about it?
Upgrade Chamilo LMS to 2.0.1, the fixed version.Source: github.com, github.com
Is it being exploited?
It is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and CISA's SSVC assessment does not mark exploitation as active. That does not mean it has not been attacked: vendors and researchers can report attacks before CISA lists them. No public exploit code is tracked.Source: cve.now feed data
