Summary

The cordova-plugin-advanced-http plugin, used in Apache Cordova mobile apps for making HTTP requests, can send a manually set Cookie header to third-party sites when a request is redirected across domains. As a result, an attacker who controls a redirect destination could obtain a user's session cookies and take over their session.

Read the original description

cordova-plugin-advanced-http 1.5.0 through 3.3.1 contains an information disclosure vulnerability that leaks cookies to third-party hosts because the JavaScript layer passes jar-built Cookie headers as ordinary request headers. When a request is redirected to another host via an open or attacker-influenced redirect, native iOS and Android stacks forward the Cookie header, letting attackers hijack user sessions.

FAQ

Questions about CVE-2026-121554

Is CVE-2026-121554 being exploited?

It is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and CISA's SSVC assessment does not mark exploitation as active. That does not mean it has not been attacked: vendors and researchers can report attacks before CISA lists them. No public exploit code is tracked.Source: cve.now feed data

What does this mean?

When the plugin follows a redirect, it sends the original request's headers, including cookies and credentials, to the redirect target. If that target is on a different host, those headers can expose session data to that host.Source: github.com, github.com

Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-121554?

cordova-plugin-advanced-http: from 1.5.0 through 3.3.1.Source: cve.now feed data

Am I affected, and how do I check?

Versions 1.5.0 through 3.3.1 of cordova-plugin-advanced-http are in the affected range. The issue applies where the native Android or iOS stack follows redirects, and automatic redirect following is enabled by default. To check, look at the plugin version in the project's dependencies and at the redirect-following setting.Source: github.com, github.com

How do I fix CVE-2026-121554?

The checked facts do not name a fixed version or a workaround. Check the advisory for a patched release. The fix moves redirect handling into JavaScript on Android and iOS.Source: github.com, github.com
