Summary

Dockhand before 1.0.54 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read, overwrite, and delete .env files outside the stacks root by double-encoding the stack name. Attackers can send %252e%252e sequences to /api/stacks/[name]/env/raw to disclose cross-environment secrets, write into protected directories, or poison deployment variables.

FAQ

Questions about CVE-2026-121448

Is CVE-2026-121448 being exploited?

It is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and CISA's SSVC assessment does not mark exploitation as active. That does not mean it has not been attacked: vendors and researchers can report attacks before CISA lists them. No public exploit code is tracked.Source: cve.now feed data

What does this mean?

A logged-in user can use Dockhand's stack environment routes to read, overwrite and delete .env files outside the managed stacks folder. Those files can hold secrets such as database credentials, and in Enterprise deployments the flaw can expose secrets from other environments.Source: github.com

Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-121448?

dockhand: before 1.0.54.Source: cve.now feed data

Am I affected, and how do I check?

Dockhand versions before 1.0.54 are affected; the vulnerability was verified on v1.0.53, the official Docker Hub image. Authentication must be enabled, since unauthenticated requests are blocked, and Enterprise RBAC cross-environment access depends on a caller-supplied env query parameter. Check the installed version to see whether it is below 1.0.54.Source: github.com

How do I fix CVE-2026-121448?

Upgrade Dockhand to version 1.0.54 or later, which contains the fix.Source: github.com
