Summary
The open-iscsi iscsiuio component, which handles network configuration for iSCSI boot and offload, is affected. A crafted DHCP response from a host on the same network could cause it to read past its memory buffer, potentially crashing the daemon or corrupting its network settings.
Summarized by anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5. Verify details against the original sources.
Read the original description
A flaw was found in the iscsiuio component of open-iscsi. The DHCPv4 option parser incorrectly calculates the length of the options data, causing it to read beyond the allocated buffer into adjacent heap memory. An attacker on the same network segment can send a crafted DHCP response to crash the daemon or corrupt its network configuration.
