Summary

The If-So Dynamic Content WordPress plugin, a personalization tool for Elementor and other page builders, is affected. An attacker with contributor-level access or higher can embed malicious scripts through a shortcode attribute, which run in an administrator's browser when they view the affected page, potentially allowing actions performed with the administrator's session.

Read the original description

The If-So Dynamic Content – Elementor & All Page Builders Personalization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'url' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.10.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The injected script executes specifically in the administrator's browser session, as the vulnerable branch only renders when an administrator previews or opens the post containing the crafted shortcode.
